Master of Science in Transportation

Professional Program

In spring 2015 The Louisiana Board of Regents approved our executive format Master of Science in Transportation (MS) degree at the University of New Orleans, making it the first degree of its kind in the state. The program, which launched in the fall semester of 2015, is one of the first in the United States that trains students in multimodal freight and passenger transportation system.

The program provides multimodal education and workforce development opportunities to transportation industry professionals so they might create the most technically advanced, secure, efficient, accessible, competitive, dynamic and environmentally responsible systems for moving goods and people.

Hybrid Class Format (Online and On-Campus)

The MS is designed for traditional students and working professionals seeking career advancement or a specialized career in transportation planning or administration. It is offered in a hybrid online and on-campus format that provides students with the flexibility of an online program and the benefits of concentrated on-campus meetings that will allow students to build a professional network with classmates, instructors and industry-affiliated partners. The Master of Science in Transportation's hybrid format allows all students enrolling in the program to enjoy the benefits of in state tuition.

Student Learning Outcomes

Student Learning Outcomes specify what students will know, be able to do, or be able to demonstrate when they have completed a program of study.

The program is housed in the ɫɫ�о�� Transportation Institute (ɫɫ�о��TI), a federally-designated University Transportation Center, which engages in applied research across Louisiana.
