University of New Orleans alumnus Michael 鈥淢ike鈥 Jackson, an award-winning manager of multi-million dollar construction projects, will serve as the keynote speaker at the fall 2024 commencement ceremony on Friday, December 13 at Lakefront Arena.
A Baton Rouge native, Jackson earned his mechanical engineering degree from 色色研究所 in 2001 and currently serves as district manager of public realm and special projects at Houston鈥檚 Energy Corridor District. Prior to that, he spent two decades as a federal civilian, leading major construction projects. While with the Department of Veterans Affairs, he was one of the resident engineers who managed the construction of the $1 billion VA New Orleans Medical Center project and was the lead engineer for the $90 million inpatient building.

The Lakefront Arena offers all guests an accessible, safe environment. Our accommodations and special services will allow all guests with disabilities the opportunity to park and attend an event with ease and enjoyment. The accessible entrance is at Ground One located under Ramp One.

Wheelchair Accessible seating is located on the ground level. Companion seating for those who need accessible accommodations is limited to one.
For those whose seats are located in the lower or upper balconies but require access to an elevator, please enter at Ground one located under Ramp 1.
Parking facilities are located in the ADA lot as directed by the Parking attendants entering through the South Gate. To gain access to ADA parking, proper vehicle registration is required as well as a current disabled placard with a matching identification card. A Drop-off area near ramp one is provided for those who need easy access to the accessible entrance. Simply inform an attendant to direct you accordingly or follow the signs once you enter South Gate.
