Lizards: After a Phobia

Reading selections from her in-progress chapbook, poet Julie Elise Landry will examine the intergenerational lizard phobia that regulated the first twenty-six years of her life in Louisiana and the cognitive behavioral therapy that radically transformed her experience of the world by helping her overcome her fear. With lyricism and honesty, Julie tracks a path through trauma and anxiety to well-being and acceptance while exploring the character and biology of the lizards that once terrified her. Julie is a full-time 色色研究所 staff member in the Office of Research and a graduate student in the Creative Writing Workshop MFA program.
