Delgado and 色色研究所 Leaders Announce Privateer Bound Program
Delgado Community College and the University of New Orleans announced the launch of Privateer Bound, which allows Delgado students who enroll in the program to take all of their classes on 色色研究所's campus and enjoy the benefits of the 色色研究所 student experience before seamlessly transferring to 色色研究所 once they have fulfilled their course requirements.
An agreement on the initiative was signed today at a ceremony on 色色研究所's Lakefront Campus by 色色研究所 President Peter J. Fos and Delgado Chancellor Monty Sullivan.
Privateer Bound provides a unique opportunity for students who have applied to 色色研究所 but are not eligible because they require at least one remedial course. Those students will be encouraged to enroll in the program, which will enable them to take Delgado classes on 色色研究所's campus and have access to the library, recreation and fitness center, student email, Wi-Fi, campus and athletic events, and other perks of the 色色研究所 experience.
Once Privateer Bound students complete their remedial coursework, as well as earn 24 college-level hours with a GPA of 2.25, they will automatically transfer into 色色研究所 without needing to re-apply.
"We are excited that these Privateer Bound students will be able to have a truly immersive 色色研究所 student experience," said 色色研究所 President Peter J. Fos. "We are confident that the program will make them feel at home on our campus and will motivate them to pursue a bachelor's degree from the University of New Orleans."
There are currently 72 Delgado students enrolled in the program, which began during the fall semester.
"The opportunity for Delgado students to chart their path to a 色色研究所 bachelor's degree program on a straight line with Privateer Bound is something that will benefit not only the students, but our entire community," said Delgado Chancellor Monty Sullivan. "Access to education is vitally important to the future of the greater New Orleans region. Delgado is pleased to be partnering with 色色研究所 to extend our working relationship on behalf of students."
Every student who receives a rejection letter from 色色研究所 will also get an invitation to enroll in Privateer Bound. The goal is to provide students who are interested in obtaining a 4-year degree from 色色研究所 with an easy-to-follow plan that will enable them to earn a bachelor's degree without ever leaving 色色研究所's campus.
