About
David C. Podgorsk received a B.S. in Chemistry at Gardner-Webb University and a Ph.D. Analytical Chemistry Florida State University (William T. Cooper). He continued as a Postdoctoral Associate at the National Maglab (Alan G. Marshall). Research focuses on the origin, transport, processing, toxicity, and fate of organic contaminants in aquatic ecosystems. David began as an Assistant Professor at the University of New Orleans Department of Chemistry and Pontchartrain Institute of Environmental Sciences in 2017 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2023. He also has an appointment as an Affiliate Professor of Chemistry at the University of Alaska Anchorage. David's research theme is related to the fate and toxicity of water-soluble hydrocarbon oxidation products in aquatic ecosystems.
Research Interests
Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Organic Geochemistry & Biogeochemistry, and Mobilization, Processing, and Fate of Pollutants.
