About
Jade Hurter was born off a busy stretch of highway in suburban North Jersey, if you couldn’t tell by the way she says “coffee.” She got out of there as fast as she could, moving to Montreal to earn her BA in Literature from McGill University, where she realized she couldn’t spend the rest of her life braving Canadian winters. Instead, she moved to New Orleans and worked as a server before eventually receiving her MFA in Poetry from ɫɫо, where she has taught ever since.
Jade is the Pushcart-nominated author of the chapbook Slut Songs (Hyacinth Girl Press 2017), and her poetry has appeared in Passages North, THRUSH, Iron Horse Literary Review, Hunger Mountain, New South, Crab Creek Review, The Collagist, The Columbia Poetry Review, and elsewhere.
