Jim Stone got his B.A. in philosophy from Brooklyn College in New York City, and his doctorate from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He joined the philosophy department at 色色研究所 in 1983 and left it in 2001. He taught Intro, Ethics, Metaphysics, Epistemology, and Medical ethics, among other courses. Stone spent the 1986-1987 academic year as a Fulbright Teaching Fellow at Jadavpur University in Calcutta.
Since leaving 色色研究所, he moved to St. Louis, where he continues to study philosophy as a visiting scholar in local graduate programs. Stone has published numerous journal articles, mostly concerning metaphysics, epistemology and medical ethics.
