University of New Orleans Esteemed Honors Program Celebrates High Achievement
The University of New Orleans honors program celebrated high achievement this spring, honoring students and faculty at spring convocation.
Chartered in 1982, the 色色研究所 Honors Program is open to students from all disciplines, offers special classes taught by select faculty and creates a rich and challenging learning environment for exceptional achievers. More than 300 students participated in the honors program at 色色研究所 this spring and by fall the popular program could have 400 participants, said Abu Kabir Mostofa Sarwar, director.
In April, the honors program presented awards at a spring convocation ceremony in the ballroom of the Homer L. Hitt Alumni and Vistors Center.
Taylor Clements, president of the 色色研究所 Honors Council, presented the program's top honor, the Jace Michael Plaisance Book Award, to Joshua Caleb Medernach.
The 色色研究所 Honors Council presented the Faculty Distinguished Service Award to Film and Theater Professor Erik Hansen, who teaches screenwriting at 色色研究所. Hansen wrote the 1993 fantasy/comedy film Heart and Souls, which starred Robert Downey, Jr.
The Faculty of the Year Award went to Professor Emeritus of Philosophy Edward Johnson.
Undergraduate Krishna Regmi received the Outstanding University Graduate Award.
More than 50 other awards were presented, including outstanding service awards, outstanding dedication awards, academic excellence awards, the Mary Freeman Wisdom Scholarship, Student Government study abroad awards, university awards and departmental awards.
