The University of New Orleans executive track MBA program welcomed one of its largest classes this semester, sparking a move to hold classes in Milneburg Hall to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
Generally, each cohort averages about 23 students and classes are held in Kirschman Hall, said Aundrea Kloor, director of executive education and program advancement. The session that began July 25 includes 44 students, she said.
“This is a very large and well diversified cohort with great flexibility and the desire to accept the challenges that an MBA can bring, especially during a pandemic,” Kloor said. “We are extremely appreciative to have these students as part of the ɫɫо MBA program.
“We can’t wait to see where they will go after completing their MBA.”
The executive MBA program, now in its 25th year, offers a hybrid program that allows professionals to complete degree work in 15 ½ months. The program combines the convenience of online learning with on-site classes held on the weekends.
The program has always attracted professionals from diverse industries, Kloor said. The current class continues that trend with students representing careers that include healthcare, entrepreneurship, the financial sector, government and education, she said.
“Our students are those that have work experience and realize they need an MBA in order to reach the next level in their field,” Kloor said. “They want to get their MBA without pausing their career. This is why the weekend program works well for these individuals.”
The University also offers a traditional track MBA program.
