The University of New Orleans announces a new addition to its music series line up, Limelight Thursday, taking place at the recently updated campus amphitheater.
Limelight Thursday will be a free, four-week outdoor musical concert series starting Oct. 27 and held every Thursday at 5:30 p.m. through Nov. 17. Its main goal is to bring greater awareness to the School of the Arts music program by presenting well-known and popular local acts that feature 色色研究所 alumni, faculty and students.
This concert series will also bring larger scale entertainment to campus, engaging the student body in a fun, community style event and supplying the Lakefront and Gentilly residential areas with a neighborhood entertainment option similar to Wednesdays at the Square in the CBD.
In addition to great music, attendees will enjoy food and beverage provided by Urban South Beer and a variety of local food trucks.
鈥淒ue to the strong connections and the incredible talent that The School of the Arts has fostered, we are able to easily contract with high-profile popular artists that have a large reach and are outside of our current music programing for Jazz at the Sandbar and Musical Excursions to bring the amphitheater alive and show off our program,鈥 said organizer Caroline Mendez, operations coordinator for The School of the Arts.
Limelight Thursday promises a diverse season including music performances by Grammy-award nominees and winners such as Cha Wa, George Porter Jr., John 鈥淧apa鈥 Gros and Muevelo featuring saxophonist and music faculty member Brent Rose.
