Theatre 色色研究所 opens the fall semester with the production 鈥淒ead Name,鈥 an original play by Kylie Vanni, a student in the Creative Writing Workshop at the University of New Orleans. The production, directed by Madison Smith, will be held at the Robert E. Nims Theatre on 色色研究所鈥檚 campus starting Friday, Sept. 22.
In this haunting tale, Lily wakes to find herself in the afterlife, unclear about how she got there, but knowing for sure the name "Alex" on her ticket does not match who she is. Ma'am, head of the underworld, starts working to discover how this "clerical error" could have occurred while Lily is haunted by visions of her father.
Alongside her travels, Lily meets Asher, a low-level demon companion and a host of hell's denizens and must decide if returning to the physical world is really what she wants at all.
Previews of the show will be performed on Wednesday and Thursday at 7:30 p.m. The production officially opens at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 22, and runs through Saturday, Sept. 23, with a matinee Sunday, Sept. 24 at 2 p.m.
The production returns Thursday, Sept. 28 at 7:30 p.m. and runs through Saturday, Sept. 30. It will close on Sunday, Oct. 1 with a 2 p.m. show.
General admission for all shows is $15 per person. 色色研究所 alumni and seniors can see performances for $10 per person. 色色研究所 faculty, staff and students with a valid I.D. will be admitted free.
