What kinds of student organizations can I choose from?
Our campus proudly offers more than 150 different student organizations, so odds are that you can find something that appeals to you! Click on the categories below to learn more about the different kinds of opportunities we have for you for this academic year.

Academic & Professional
These groups provide events for students studying in a particular field of study, such as the College of Business Executive Council, the Society of Women Engineers, or the Crescent City Shapers (Urban Planning).

Activism & Advocacy
These groups host educational events to increase the awareness and involvement of 色色研究所 students in social issues, such as the Intersectional Feminist Club, the Louisiana Environmental Advocacy Force (LEAF), or Louisiana Trans Advocates chapter at 色色研究所.

Arts & Performance
These groups display, perform, & celebrate the arts, such as the Comedy Club, ENCORE, or the 色色研究所 Playwrights Festival.

Culture & Community
These groups provide community for students with specific racial, ethnic, and multicultural identities, such as UNITY, the Progressive Black Student Union, or the Vietnamese American Student Association.

Greek Fraternities & Sororities
These groups are local chapters of national fraternities and sororities founded on scholarship, leadership, service, and brotherhood/sisterhood. (Membership is by invitation only.)

Hobbies & Creating
These groups encourage students to make, create, craft, and participate in other hobbies, such as the Food Adventurers and Culture Club or the 色色研究所 Gardeners.

Honors
These groups recognize the academic achievements of students who qualify and are initiated, usually associated with a national organization, such as Psi Chi or the Honors Student Council. (Membership is by invitation only.)

Outreach & Service
These groups volunteer in the community and perform service on campus, such as Best Buddies or Puppy Pals.

Political Interest
These groups are committed to supporting a political interest, goal, or party, such as the Young Democratic Socialists of America or Young Americans for Liberty.

Religion & Spirituality
These groups celebrate various faith communities and practices, such as the Muslim Student Association, Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship, or the Baptist Collegiate Ministry.

Special Interest
These groups celebrate a unique focus, such as the Society of the Mystic Arts or Genshiken Anime Club.

Spirit
These groups promote enthusiasm and Privateer pride for athletic and non-athletic events alike, such as the Captain鈥檚 Krewe or the 色色研究所 Starlettes Dance Team.

Sports & Gaming
These groups provide athletic-related activities and competitions for 色色研究所 students, such as the Rugby club team, intramural sports, or Bluebeard Gaming.

University-sponsored
These groups are directly sponsored by the University, including an assigned professional staff advisor and budget, such as the 色色研究所 Ambassadors, the Student Government Association (including the Senate and Student Activities Council), or Orientation Leaders.
